Self¬ propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) are multi-¬axle trailers designed to transport large and heavy cargoes. The SPMTs are designed in modular construction and can be coupled side to side and end to end. The SPMTs consist of a strong and rigid chassis, which also acts as a load-carrying platform to which wheel bogies are attached in pairs to form the required length of the transporter. Each wheel bogie consists of two rubber tyres wheels and is rigidly fixed to the chassis by a hinged elbow joint supported on hydraulic rams. This hydraulic ram acts as the suspension for the SPMT and also provides the lifting capability. Attached to the end of the SPMT is a diesel-driven power pack, which provides hydraulic power to the various functions of the SPMT.

Strand Jacks
Strand Jacks are hydraulically powered and utilize multiple strand cables for a simple ‘grip and lift’ mechanism, Strands are 18 mm diameter steel (high strength steel) with a safe working load of 15 tonnes and a minimum breaking load of 38 tonnes; Strand Jacks are available in many sizes ranging from 15 tonnes to 750 tonnes
Strand Jacks may be used singularly, in pairs, or in groups to give any lifting capacity required.

Gantry System
The gantry lifting system is a mobile, self-propelled, variable-height hydraulic lifting frame. It is controlled primarily from a remote, self-contained power module positioned away from the gantries. The gantries are designed to be operated on smooth surfaces such as steel plates or tracks and must be within one degree of the true level for proper and safe operation. A side shift mechanism allows the system to move the load in three directions. There are four jacking units, each supported on wheels, with a vertical lift cylinder and a vertical lift boom mounted on top. These units are self-propelled. The cylinders and booms of these jacking units extend or retract to lift or lower the load. The jacking units can move longitudinally to transport loads horizontally.
The lift cylinders are telescopic, multiple-stage, and double-acting (pressure extend, pressure retract). They’re designed to eliminate the use of troublesome hose reels. Double-locking valves are built into the lower base of the cylinders and are not subject to any hydraulic hose or tubing failures. An equalized pressure system is created by matching the load rating with the maximum system pressure, ensuring they cannot be overloaded. If a load exceeds the specified capacity, the system will not allow the gantry to lift the load. The lift telescopic boom consists of nested structural boxes made of square steel tubing with solid steel bars attached on two sides.
