During these last years, the requests of the customers have not only been connected to Megaload long-standing typical activity but also related to the matters and problems during the modularized plant construction pre-planning phase for the definition of civil requirements and logistics engineering”. Moreover, there is a bigger and bigger involvement of engineering know-how within the most challenging clients’ construction requirements.

Engineering is not only the capability to make complex structural calculations but also the ability to choose the most effective technical solutions and the appropriate equipment and means of transport and lifting, considering all the aspects concerning safety, quality, environment, reliability of the service offered, budget and activity planning, to satisfy clients requirements.

In the bidding stage, the Megaload Engineering Department assists the Commercial Management in identifying the most suitable methods and equipment for projects execution, provides method of statements and drawings, and analyzes the client’s technical specifications and the technical aspects of the offer/tender.

The Engineering Department is responsible for preparing Technical Specifications for procuring and constructing equipment, such as specific saddles, supports, and beams, to use during transport and lifting operations. In-house engineering aims at reducing risks. To achieve this, Megaload uses sophisticated computer programs to conduct accurate engineering studies and ensure safe transport and lifting. The latest generation of technical drawing software and 3D movie simulation technology is employed to calculate all possible risks and replicate the movement of the entire transport and lifting operation.

Safety is a top priority. All documents issued by the Engineering Department are safety-oriented for on-site activities and prepared in cooperation with the HSE department. This includes issuing Safety Manuals, Method of Statements, Safety Job Analysis, Risk Assessments, and Near-miss Reports.
